Fibroids
Leiomyomas (lie-o-my-O-muhs) , also commonly referred to as uterine fibroids are benign tumors of the uterus most commonly known to occur in women of color. The tumors are removed surgically when they become very large or cause unwanted symptoms such as bleeding or pain. Rarely they are found to be cancerous but common signs that they have become cancerous is rapid growth, pain or bleeding following the menopause.
